Miscellaneous works

On this page I have put some stuff I  have done during my time at Socrates

3Dhype banner:

I made this advertisement banner for Socrates, which was placed on 3dhype.com, they have updated their website so I had to make another one since they changed the design ( the blue stripes were part of the old website header ).

Kiosk:

This is a 3D render of a saleskiosk done in maya and was used in a pitch Socrates did to an undisclosed party.

Skeletonride:

As you can see, these are skeletons in a rollercoaster ride, I got both the models and the footage delivered by third parties, I rendered the skeletons in maya using Renderman and tried to track them using Nuke, but the footage was of such poor quality that none of the trackers worked in the end I did it by hand in Maya.

Previz cameralayout
This is a previsualisation of the cameralayout for an undisclosed tourist attraction

Overlays
During my time at Socrates I have made quite some overlays, these are placed over a photo taken of you ( probably when you’re in a rollercoaster).
Most of the times you”ll get a designbrief and some stock footage so that the look stays consistent.
However, the composition is something they leave up to you since it needs to fit around the photo.
For the left one I created a snow and ice shader( it’s semi transparent which you can’t see on this black background) and for the right one I created some CG smoke and comped it in.

Trainingflyer
This is a CG head I made for a flyer for our trainingcourses which we inserted in every relevant product we shipped to our customers

Customerrequest
This is a before and after image, the before image was an image a customer created and they wondered how using a 3d application beside Autocad would make any difference, so I sacrificed a free evening and created the after image

Batmovie
I was asked to track a bat in the footage, but since it was of poor quality and it was impossible to read what was going on, I decided to overlay the bat and let him come from the opposite direction.
The bat itself was bought from a downloadsite ( turbosquid I believe), but I’ve added fur and done the animation in Maya en rendered in Renderman

VFX logo design
Below are some logo designs I was asked to make for the VFX exhibition

Socrates interior
This is a shot of an interior visual I made to see, if the changes suggested by the builder would indeed improve the look on the groundfloor at Socrates.

Walibi 3D
If you’ve ever been to one of the Walibi theme parks, you should know this character.
I was asked to create a 3d version of this character.
I explored a couple of texture ideas as well.
